Unleash the Hounds – Newtown’s Off-Leash Dog Park
In 2009, Newtown dog owner’s banded together to establish Newtown’s first off-leash dog park. With over 1850 dogs registered in Newtown Connecticut, yearly fundraisers like “Strutt Your Mutt” and “Howloween” of gone a long way towards supporting the park. The park is just over two acres of land, and includes a separate section for older dogs or more timid dogs, as well as agility course elements to engage energetic canines. The park is free and open to the public, and it’s a great place to visit whether you’re a dog-owner or a dog-lover (especially if you’re both).
