Every year, television networks replay the same movies they do annually. A modern day favorite Christmas movies is Elf starring Will Ferrell. This year, it is time to get the family off the couch and into the Shubert Theatre to see the Elf the Musical. Buddy the Elf will be accompanied by music from Tony Award winners and nominees as he makes the journey to reunite with his birth father. Local shops and business will greet participants with refreshments and a fun and festive shopping experience. On November 16^th at 6:00 p.m. three guest speakers will give a talk on the importance of preserving the Earth’s most precious areas of natural beauty. The Long Island Sound is one of the most picturesque places in the United States despite being one of the most densely populated suburban areas. Leonardo Cremonini, an Italian painter of the 20^th century, has works of art that can be found Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Hirschhorn in D.C., and other museums across the Unites States and Europe. Starting on November 3^rd, his paintings will be shown in your backyard. The Walsh Gallery at the Fairfield University Art Museum will offer art-lovers the chance to experience the works of Cremonini for free. The exhibition will also include films and lectures related to the life of Cremonini. Twain had a strong imagination to accompany his highly intellectual mind. His imagination is reflected in the quirky Hartford house he formerly lived in that has since been converted to a museum. On December 4^th, the museum will be decorated to reflect a late 19^th century Christmas for Mark Twain and family. Additionally, several other unique homes in the area will be festively decorated.
