Norwalk’s location right on the Long Island Sound has allowed for the aquarium to become one of the best in the country. Recently, they have opened an exciting new exhibit called “Animals without Passports” that will stay open until until at least next year. This exhibit focuses on how the humpback whales migrate each year from the Caribbean all the way up to the coasts of New England for the warmer summer months. These whales are forced to endure multiple challenges on their journey such as fishing nets and boats, and pollution. Stratford is a beautiful coastal town in Fairfield County and the community comes together every year to make sure it stays clean. This year Project Green Sweep is taking place on Saturday May 7^th at 8am down at the Birdeye Street boat dock. Volunteers will meet there and continue along the river picking up trash to make sure that the wildlife will be able to continue to live without issue. It will then continue into town where the local parks and other sites will be cleaned up. Ever Dream of Being a Pirate? – Milford

Every Summer Milford gets invaded by Pirates who “kidnap” the Mayor and hunt for treasure throughout the town. Come be a part of the fun this year on Sunday June 12^th from noon to 5pm throughout the downtown area. Start by getting dressed up in your favorite pirate fashion and then proceed to Lisman Landing to collect your treasure map. This event is for all ages and there are prizes going to the best dressed child and adult pirate. All pirates will convene in the center of town to meet with Captain Kidd and parade down main street then listen to live music while enjoying delicious local food. While we are familiar with the ocean and all things swashbuckling, Seamen’s Moving does not condone piracy. Our trucks can handle way more than the average pirate ship and we will get all of your possessions to you new home in record timing. This summer join the town of New Canaan celebrate the 50^th anniversary of their Village Fair and Sidewalk Sale on July 16^th from 9am-5pm. This event brings all the locals together and draws in a crowd from surrounding Fairfield County towns as well because of the variety of products offered. Vendors get their own tents to sell locally made goods as well as plenty of delicious food, you are sure to find something you love. This open market began in the 1920’s just as a gathering of artists and jewelry makers but since then has expanded to include all sorts of other activities kids will love to take part in like rock climbing. This one-day event is not one to miss with the main streets in the center of town being shut down so shoppers can fully enjoy themselves. The Darien Arts Center is thrilled to have the chance to showcase the award wining play “You’re a good man, Charlie Brown”. This family orientated play circulated on Broadway for many years winning multiple awards during that time. It features the loved characters from the Peanuts comic strip portrayed by local adult acting talent from all over Fairfield County. It’s clean and clever humor will have the whole family laughing uncontrollably from start to finish. The event features a luncheon, fashion show, and a silent auction with great options to bid on. Tickets start at $200 with all proceeds being donated to the senior housing.
