By the 1890’s, the Christ Parish of Ansonia had grown too large for their old church on Main Street. With a plot of land gifted by Franklin Farrel, of the Farrel Foundry & Machine Company, the construction of the church began, with designs provided by Henry M. Congdon & Sons of New York. Made of Ansonia Granite and New Jersey Graystone, this marvelous building continues to be in use today.
